What is Cloud Networking?

Cloud networking refers to the suite of connectivity solutions that link enterprise locations, data centers, and cloud providers through dedicated, high-performance connections — as opposed to routing everything across the public internet. This includes private circuits, dedicated internet access (DIA), Network-as-a-Service (NaaS), and multi-cloud interconnect fabrics.

As organizations move critical workloads to AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, internet-based connectivity introduces unpredictable latency, packet loss, and security exposure that is unacceptable for production applications. Private cloud connectivity — such as AWS Direct Connect or Azure ExpressRoute — eliminates these risks by establishing a dedicated path between the enterprise and the cloud provider, bypassing the public internet entirely.

Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) is an emerging model that allows organizations to consume network bandwidth and connectivity on demand, with elastic scaling and usage-based billing — eliminating the long contract commitments that have historically characterized enterprise networking.

Common Use Cases

AWS / Azure Direct Connect

Establish a private, dedicated connection to your cloud provider of choice — bypassing the public internet for production workloads requiring consistent performance.

Multi-Cloud Interconnect

Connect AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud environments with low-latency private fabric through carrier-neutral facilities like Equinix or Megaport.

Data Center to Cloud Bridging

Link existing on-premises data centers and colocation facilities to cloud environments as part of a phased hybrid migration strategy.

NaaS Consumption Model

Replace fixed-bandwidth circuits with elastic, usage-based networking that scales with your workloads and eliminates over-provisioning.

AI & High-Throughput Workloads

Support GPU clusters, AI training, media production, and financial trading applications with the consistent, low-latency bandwidth they require.

Dedicated Internet Access

Replace shared broadband with enterprise-grade DIA circuits backed by carrier SLAs for uptime, latency, and packet loss.
